TRUCK (TIPPER) LOADED WITH STRANDED COMMUTERS PLUNGES INTO EPE RIVER.

Last night, news flew around town about an unfortunate incident at Begger (Oko-Orisan) bridge involving a 20 tonnes haulage truck.
The truck was said to have lifted stranded commuters heading to Epe and in a bid to avoid an head on collision with an oncoming vehicle, it swerved into the swampy section of the river.

As at the time of filing this report, the truck has so far been removed. 3 bodies have also been recovered according to LASEMA. While rescue operations in search of survivors  are still on going, an average of 15 people were said to have been on board according to an eye witness.
As it stands now, the unfortunate incident is causing massive gridlock on the T-Junction axis, precisely Petrocam fuelling station. Motorists and commuters are advised to take alternative routes.
