FGM: KENYA JAILS 22 WOMEN FOR UNDERGOING FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION.

22 women were on Friday jailed for 4 months by a Kericho court for undergoing #FGM.

The Magistrate directed the accused women to pay a Ksh.20,000 fine each or serve a jail term of 4 months in default but they all failed to raise the fine and are currently serving the sentence at the Kericho GK Women Prison.

The women alleged they were forced to undergo the cut by their husbands who are on the run. The women are:
