Here is a thread about types of Female Genital Mutilation according to an FGM survivor, Hibo Wardere, who had the experience at age six. According to her Twitter handle @HiboWardere, she said:

Below Are The Types Of FGM.
Type 1 is called Clitoridectomy, it means removing part or all of the clitoris. Targeting clitoris means taking away your sexual pleasure and urges.
Type 2 is called Excision . It has to do removing of part or all of clitoris and the inner labia ( labia majora).
Type 3 is called Infibulation. It is removal of the clitoris both Labia majora & Labia minora. Then whatever skin is left is then sewn together leaving tiny hole like tip of matchstick. That hole is where you pass urine. Have period and sex too.
Type 4 is all none medical procedures piercing,pricking, cutting, scrapping, burning. Some communities use piercing as a form of FGM. This is one of the worst form of child abuse.
